Anthon is a very special boy with a clear passion, MUSIC. Right now,he is starring the Gucci Campaign for Fall/winter 2011 and he has made a lot of shows during Milan and Paris fashion week.
From Sweden and full of goals, Anthon looks like a passional boy who lives the moment, try to enjoy and trough his work, express some of his ideas and feelings.
I think is better if you discover a little bit more about him with this interview, so..
THIS IS ANTHON WELLSJO
sBt-I usually ask in an interview about the start in the fashion industry as model, but in your case, i want to know how do you feel right now when you are a " top " since some time ago and you have lived a lot of things?
AW-My relation to modelling has always been to keep it playful and I see it more as a funny adventure rather than a serious and important career. So when I started working more and more I really tried to keep my head cold and to not put so much focus on what clients I was working for. I always remind myself that modelling is a playground to have fun, but not that important in the sense of doing big jobs or small jobs.
sBt-YSL was a real great job for you and your career.. When you was chosen for the job, what did you thought?
AW-It was supercool, but at the same time I decided not to have any expectations. When you are confimed for a big job its easy to say "yippie" too early. There are always stories of models being cancelled in last minute, or in the end not managing to get the good images for the brand. In those situations its good having a distance.
sBt-The Fashion Weeks for you is something established in your life and each 3-4 months Milan, Paris and NY are your home for a month..Let me know, when you're reading this.. what do you have in your mind? Tell me the good and bad things!
AW-Since I live in Paris the fashion weeks are rather easy for my in that sense. I don't need to pack my bag and live "on the go" for as long time as for many other models. The hard things with travelling during a long period of time during fashion week is that it's hard to take a break, to be able to think of other things. When I'm in Paris I have my girlfriend, my appartment, friends, activities which supports me. When it comes to Milan and New York I basically only do direct bookings, which means I don't need to stay for as long as for many other models who do all the castings over there.
sBt-I know you're sharing your life as model with another things and that , sometimes, is a bit difficult.. but, you have a special hobby which has suffered a change and it is essential for you.. the music. tell me a bit.
AW-Well, my music, which has become more than just a hobby, has actually been flourishing since i started working as a model. Except from during fashion week, modelling for me has generated a lot of spare time to work on my music projects. Sometimes I'm even in need of my work as a compositor to fill out the uneven time schedule as a model. The fashion world have also given me some new encounters with people who I later on have started working with as a musician. This is actually the part of modelling which pleases me the most, the meetings with new people who, most of them, are interested in all kind of creativity, including music.
sBt-When born your love for music? and also when it started to be something real and as part of you?
AW-I have been playing the guitar since I was 10 years old and has since then been spending most of my free time either playing or listening to music. But its not really until now, or since I moved to Paris, that I started feeling really free and self confident as a musician. Since one year I have been working for my first clients and I feel really motivated and at ease with my own personal projects.
sBt-Let me know what kind of music do you create and do want to show to the people.
AW-The music I create is partly my personal compositions. They are more personal because its the music that really reflects my ideas and philosophies about life and society. It's very easy-going pop songs with vocals and acoustic guitar, usually written after a day of new experiences and insights.
The second part is the music I create for clients. I have made compositions for numerous short movies, fashion videos, backstage movies, etc. Many of these are for clients I have met as a model in the fashion industry. The genre of this music change a lot from each project. I have done several music soundtracks for Valentino, which have all been very elegant and romantic. Now on the other hand I am working on a samba influenced sound track for a 3D animated cartoon short movie. With a client its always a surprise what genre it's going to be.
sBt-When you are thinking in your future, maybe within 5-6 years.. what do you see? a band, maybe in concerts..?
AW-In 5-6 years I have no idea of what I will do and where I will be. And to be honest, I like keeping it that way. My life since a few years have been a series of surprises and I prefer keeping it that way. Sometimes I get the feeling that if i expect something, I end up getting something completely different. However, I hope I am happy and that I live my life in a balanced and positive way, that's all.
sBt-To finish.. Do you think the fashion and music have a common sense like the creativity, for example?
AW-Everything! Music is the perfect tool to explain and enhance the emotion of something visual. When I do the shows, I see the designers choosing music accordingly with the emotion and feeling he/she gets from the collection and the models. For me all creativity touch the same area of the soul, its just a question of expressing it differently.

I spoke about the Gucci campaign where Anthon is one of the models. I really like the shooting and the way of these pictures. Here you have a couple of them.
Gucci really likes Anthon. Besides the campaign, he also starred the LookBook of the brand.
Another thing I spoke with Anthon and you have read it in the interview, was the Fashion Weeks and all the shows he always doing in Milan, Paris, NY...
I wanna show you some of them during last Milan and Paris Men's Fashion Week. I was there and he made a fabulous job! I remember his interpretation at John Galliano show, SUPREME!
ZZegna, Hermés, Gucci, Ann Demeulemeester, Galliano.. are some of those shows he made. Also, in Paris Anthon was the model selected by Balmain for showing the collection s/s 2012. I really Like this shot!
But, another side of Anthon's job and one of my favorites after FW's are the editorials and everything with a direct way to fashion magazines.
I wanna start to show you the fantastic Anthon's cover in Numéro Homme, one of the best magazines around the world and one of my favorites too haha
Inside an amazing editorial called Rapaces, he have made in my opinion, one of the best editorial jobs.
Speaking about best jobs, this one in L'officiel Homme is another of them and I think it is full of glamour, very chic and Anthon show the people how chameleon could be. That is fantastic!
GQ Italy or 10 men are another two publications where Anthon has worked.

GQ Italy
