First time I saw this collection my reaction was different than usual, full of energy and clearly positive..My love for Felicity Brown's work started and she always in my mind to be a part in all the projects and ideas I have.
You know british designers are ones of my favorites around the world because they are full of freshness, innovative ideas and strength to develop all of them and of course, Felicity Brown is british and designer.
When I thought from where she took the inspiration was a simple answer...It came from a lot of research and as you can see, that research was a success for her second collection.
Obviously Felicity is a genius for having worked hard and during a lot of year after her graduation at Royal College of Art.
Alberta Ferreti, Loewe, Mulberry or the last one before open his own line, Lanvin.. were some of Felicity's homes and that means experience and an education which makes possible this beautiful collection.

About the collection and the hard research I told you before, the main ideas were took from The watery marks of Marlene Dumas's paintings and from another spaniard like me, Picasso.
From Picasso the ideas indicator was found in the ballet illustrations and sparked the vision of mixing these awesome fabrics with a lot of cuts like a deconstruction.
There is a based color in the collection. It's cream and I think it's perfect for all the combinations she made.
All the details Felicity Brown has added in the top of dresses, the yellow tones and the beautiful shapes, made me felt in love and pay attention to everything she will create in the future.
Besides Marlene and Picasso inspirations, she decided combine the tribes winks with her symbolic markings where women who wears one of these creations will look like a warrior lady.
I'm impatience to discover what she is going to show us in London Fashion Week next month!
What do you think about her and this collection? Are you thinking to get one for this Fall/winter? I hope so, these dresses are art or aren't it?
Before to finish I wanna tell/show you two things that I consider are important or at least, for me haha :D
First one is the new website of Frankie Morello! They've changed the face and you should visit it and discover all the things they wanna show you there!

The second and final one is the new Tumblr of my friend Sebastian Sauve! If you have Tumblr let's go and add him.

On his Tumblr, you are going to find his last shots, covers, personal pictures...
Follow Sebastian!
Also, you can find his Tumblr under the Like button of Sick by Trend on the side!
That is all :D How is going your week? Mine busy in few days we will launch the new ODDA's website and we are working hard. I'm excited!!!
Which plans do you have for your weekend? Let me know!
THANKS AGAIN FOR BEING HERE!
xx

To me her work looks like deconstructed Elizabethina (the 1st queen that is) All those ruffles around her neck could be ruffs. Wouldnt look out of place on Cate Blanchett. It is beautiful work. Xxxx

ReplyDeleteI looove the model's face ♥
I think the designer is talented, and when I was looking at the first few pics, I thought to myself,
"hmmmm...the colors of the clothes she made looks like watercolor, and the dripping effects of watercolors".
It's very cool and yes, I think her designs are art, and I looove the dress with the yellow and black prints on it ♥
And, yes, I agree on Phillip Lim ♥ :D

ReplyDeletehooooly cannolli! these ARE definately pieces of ART. the colours and the fabrics used are breath taking. im just so amazed by how many layers were used for some of the detailing, but the dress still manages to do the models figure justice and she still wears the dress instead of the dress wearing her! but above all, i absolutely love the shoulder detailing, im just blown away, this takes an incredible amount of talent to produce such a piece of art. thank you for the post! =)
